Just to update matters......

As the Promo awards have not changed over the past month I have decided to burn 10,000 miles on a cheapo watch on the Air France shopping partner site. Additional cost of 19 Euros for post and packaging but hey ho at least I have not had to spend circa £100 in taxes etc. for a European flight that I could purchase in full for about the same cost.

The orphaned 1040 miles will just have to wither on the vine as I am fairly adamant that I will not be flying AF or KLM again if I have any choice in the matter.

An atrocious experience with an award booking and transfer between Charles de Gaule and Orly and extortionate rates of taxes and extras make this one dead dodo of a programme.
