Dude,
don't confuse us...

The past is the past. Right now:

if you arrive from the US or any major longhaul (usually non schengen destinations) and you want to get to the H gates, you have to go thru screening (new EU rules)

When you want to go to the G gates after arrival from longhaul you are channeled land side after immigration and stand in line with the pleb starting their journey from MUC. You won't be let into the G schengen area again because you have no BP departing the G area for that day. Used to be possible, but since there was a mess up with a pax recently that required evacuation of the complete terminal, the screeners are a bit particular about who enters the terminal.

If you go from the G gates to the H gates, no screening required.

However if you want to fly to the US out of H, a new/old screening is back thanks to mr 'underpants over DTW'
