So GO Transit have, in their infinite wisdom, cut the Square One - YYZ service, and now the only alternative is Missisauge Transit which appears to take twice as long (35 mins as opposed to 15 mins).
This is particularly bad for me, as I happen to work at McMaster University, which has its own GO bus station and excellent non-stop GO bus links to Square One. Until now, I could get from my office to YYZ check-in within 90 minutes, point-to-point, including waiting for transfers and walking at each end - for a little over $9 one-way ^ Until now, a complete no-brainer, and excellent value.
But now things are getting daft. It appears that you now cannot get a single through ticket, and have to deal with two transit systems with increased potential for delays (I've not tried the MT's Malton Express yet, but am looking at two trips ex-YYZ later this month - but adding an extra 20 mins to the scheduled journey doesn't fill me with glee).
It was bad enough when they cut the service to hourly last year, but this just seems ludicrous...
For a so-called "world class city", I can't see any evidence of public transit options to/from YYZ being high on anyone's priority... then again, I guess I was spoiled living in London (the
real world-class one, that is

)
