If you come down to Tassie let me know - having lived down here for nearly 8! years and travelled the state for work for 4 of them, I know the areas. If you wanted to come down here for a month, I can find out about Volunteer stuff for you. For the mainland try Volunteering Australia.
I am also VERY jealous of you, your partner and your son....do you need someone to carry bags?
