Dragonman, there's been a number of reports of the AA AUS service desk verifying CC/residential address. Did they ask for your residential address or whether your CC was issued in NZ?
The last I heard, even though the AA NZ number routed to AA AUS, they still went through with various checks to ensure the likes us of don't save $000's of dollars.
Gold_Member - I can tell you that the residential issue never arose. No checks, questions etc. I used the AA NZ phone number to pay by cc. They got their $77NZD processing fee and there were no hassles at all. And given that I am 2/3 of the way through the DONE4 no hassles since.
