Maybe Asiana is not marketing in Australia well enough? It is a great alternative way to get to Europe rather than just via SIN/BKK/HKG.
It is a nice way but there are many issues. One being schedule and flight frequency and the other being that Australia is not an easy F market. TG just re-introduced F to Australia after a couple of years absence and QF is cutting most of its F services.

Actually, there is absolutely no difference in distance between SYD-SIN-LHR, SYD-BKK-LHR and SYD-ICN-LHR. All the same within 1%.
DXB is now a major hub to Australia and is further than any of the other hubs.

The problem is not the routing but the schedules which require overnights in ICN and only offer one flight a day compared to the many options QF/SQ/EK are giving.

And of course that OZ is not very present even with travel agents. When I inquire about fares to Europe I will never be quoted an OZ fare unless I specifically ask for it.
