The explanation given to me on a handful of flights is the swine flu - and, at the time, the more flying Alaska did into Mexico. But that was almost a year ago!

Call me an idiot but it seems to me, from my questions and the responses, that Alaska believes it is hipper and more progressive (and proud of it) because it doesn't offer blankets due to germs. Not saying that's wrong, just how I perceived their answers.
