This hotel looks interesting. I travel to Taiwan frequently for business and have stayed at all the other Starwood properties (Sheraton, Westin and 4Points) in Taipei.
I looked up some rates for early May 2010 at the new Sheraton Hsinchu- there are a couple of reasonable promo rates (cancellable), but the rack rates are through the roof (rack rates start at NT$11,000 per night)- I would not pay >NT$10,000 per night for any room in the Hsinchu area...

I would not pay more than NT$4,000 per night for any room in the Hsinchu area...Haha~ Since I'm a local (TWese), I know there are a lot of good 6-stars level of motels, which offer in-suite Jaccuzi /W TV, 80 inch projection TV w/KTV, huge space......and each room has different theme! They have taken Motel to the next level. For price ranging from 2000 to 6000 NTD+ (65USD - 200 USD) If you do not care about the SPG stay and points, U can try Taiwanese Motels.....
