I would also guess that AA would not deny you PLT because of 81 miles. I find that they are rather generous when comes to bending the rules. BUT- could it be that this year they may be strict because of all the extra PLT's there will be because of the blanket extention they've granted?

A bit off topic- I was told by an AA rep that those whose membership was extended will get regular PLT packages. I thought I read on FT that I wouldn't. What's up?
