It seems as if though I am going to fall 81 miels short of reaching Platinum Status this year.
I am in San Francisco now and will get around 1800 miles back to Chicago but gonna be a bit short and I am 8 segments away. With the holidays coming up shortly I am not certain how much travel I will get. Has anyone ran across this and was AA partial to giving you the missing miles or was it a tough luck kinda deal. I would hate to think that I would have to book a flight to Indian or something to get a lousy 81 miles or even worse start back at 25,000 on the 1st of Jan and had to work that back up.

I am really looking forward to the Platinum since it will all be done in the states without any overseas travel. Being in Chicago puts me in the center of the US so I don't get to gather the east coast to west coast kinda miles some get.
