I did the same flight a little over a year ago in economy as part of my JFK-LHR-BOM itinerary. I have to say that the LHR-BOM was MUCH worse than the JFK-LHR portions in both directions. Maybe I had bad luck but after being a nice guy and letting someone have my seat on LHR-BOM I wound up sitting in front of someone that kept kicking my seat the entire flight because I reclined it. She even complained to the FA who asked me to raise my seat. On BOM-LHR I sat next to a toddler in a car seat which basically covered my right arm rest. I was able to get some sleep after he stopped crying but he eventually woke me up by kicking me. It was so nice of his parents to put him in the seat next to me rather than in between themselves. One great thing was getting an op-up to premium seat 28A on the LHR-JFK leg (no BA or OW status) after nearly missing the connection (which my suitcase missed). Just like your 28J seat I think that 28A is an extremely comfortable seat and by far the best none J/F seat on the plane.

I got to BOM around 7pm from a connecting flight so that was horrible waiting for 4 1/2 hours to check in. BOM international terminal is the worse airport I've ever been to. Domestic however, new and very nice.

As for the rest of your report as others have mentioned it was excellent and I have to agree with you on so many things. Reading your descriptions I can picture my self back in India where I would also gladly go back to again and just like last time hopefully with my Indian friends. I am not sure if I can ever feel right about asking someone at the place we were staying for food at 2am and when they say the kitchen is closed telling them to go in to town to find something that's open.
