I am a 1K on UA and make Platinum evey year on AA so I have an alternative if needed. Last year it was just under 51K and this year it will end up being 56K, due to a trip to LHR on December 28. Although I have at present 152K on UA (and another 15K booked by the end of the calendar year, I find it a bit difficult for me to make both EXP and 1K in the same year. I travel to SYD and UA serves that market better (I know, so does Quantas, but I need to sit up front) and I need to make Million Miler on UA (already have that on AA).
