If you go to Munich, you should see the Duetche museum and BMW world.
In Berlin, though it is small, the museum at CheckPoint Charlie is very interesting.

In Italy, there are a choice of ferries around the Amalfi coast. mrs pbiflyer stayed in Sorrento and took a ferry to Amalfi. There is also one to the isle of Capri.
