Peter Wynne (exc Aman, ex Taj, etc) is now working with Swire - I think as COO. He is a very good opening GM, but despite the team at Swire, I think they are too hip for their own good and have forgotten that service is the key in this market. Pity, as a few high-end boutique hotels would be good in the region.
I had dinner at Cafe Gray (now closed in New York) at the Upper House a couple of nights ago. Food fine, but decor and atmosphere fantastic. A really buzzy experience with great people watching and great views. Recommended.
