Have you "tested the water" on a shorter flight yet to see how (s)he will react to being put in a pressured aluminium tube?
To be honest, I'd say I have been kept awake on flights by babies far less often than by adults (snoring or chatting and laughing outloud! )

And I completely agree with you that class doesn't make a difference - I don't have any children but never understood why some people think babies should 'not' travel in business class but would be fine in economy. As far as I'm concerned, babies are fine absolutely everywhere as long as parents - and 99% of parents do it spontaneously - try to reassure and calm them if the poor kids start panicking a bit. Asian airlines are usually great at this by always training some steward(esses) in all classes to help parents take care of babies particularly during the 'sensitive' moments (just after take off, main meal, time when the cabin will want to sleep, descent). ^
