I’m confused by some of the responses here. I’ve only been to Amanpuri, so I can’t comment on the other properties. But this guy is 25 and on a honeymoon. He doesn’t need to pay for suites 103/105 and he’ll just sweat the price. You can get the same view with a short walk of 50 yards or so. Also, I do not understand the fascination with a private plunge pool. We hate the things. The Andaman sea is just down the 80 or so steps. This shouldn’t be a problem for somebody 25 years old.

We were at one of the mid-level huts one year after the tsunami and had a fine stay. Amanpuri remains one of my favorite hotels, in fact, it is the model which has been copied by others. But I’m a fan of the Aman style. This guy doesn’t need to spend $1500/night to have fun at Amanpuri.
