I usually take Gulf Air to fly from USA to Bahrain to Pakistan. The flight from USA to Bahrain operated by American or United air (the segment from USA to Europe).

Recently many airlines have changed their baggage policy even for international flights. So I called Gulf Air about my upcoming trip and they said that it is one bag going from USA but coming back to USA it is 2 bags. But when i check American's or United's website it says 2 bags to all flights going from USA to 'rest of the world'. I called American and they asked me to call Gulf Air.

All the while, on Gulf's website it says contact the airline that is operating the flight.

Anyone knows of a straight answer to this?

OT, but Gulf Air ? Two years back I collected my bag at LHR, totally ripped open...got the necessary paperwork...and got totally fed up chasing it and gave up in the end. Totally appalling service.
