I am currently planning my honeymoon for March 2011 and want it to be something special. As a young business traveler, I have lots of points and only some cash. We are flying F to Thailand and doing 2 nights in Bangkok probably at the JW Marriott or something like that (either Marriott or SPG) and also doing 5 nights in a suite at the Le Meridian Khao Lak (I know neither luxury and not relevant to this forum).
Outside of that, I would like to spend 3-5 nights in utter bliss in Phuket or somewhere in the area. My Fiancée loves to be pampered, loves the beach and loves being surrounded by nature and will be totally content relaxing on the beach, getting massages and eating really good food. I have narrowed it down, I believe, to Amanpuri, Trisara and the Anantara (other suggestions are welcome).
I am looking to spend around $700-800 a night, but can go up to $1000 if it's worth it. I have a PLT Amex and my travel agent (mom) is a Virtuoso agent, so I could parlay those benefits.

Really its between the best deal you get for the better room at Trisara or Amanpuri. I prefer amanpuri but we usually stay in the villas. If your choice is between the first level rooms at amanpuri and the first level at trisara I think you will prefer Trisara. Then again, the beach at amanpuri is better and the restaurants are excellent too.
