Update:

Okay, right now it looks like I will be staying at 3 properties for a total of 4 days (though it's all still very up in the air):
1 day at Hyatt Place Orlando/Universal
1 day at Hyatt Place Orlando/Convention Center
2 days (weekend?) at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress

All stays will be paid rates, with the exception that I will probably use DL miles for one of the two nights at the Regency. Again, the differences in public rates negates the use of Hyatt check certs.

(FTR, I really wish Hyatt or SPG had a hotel with a lazy river. Alas, only the Hilton [hah!], Marriott [just burned off my last points w/ them] and Omni [I belong to them, but program too small to pursue] chains seem to...)

Still a few outstanding questions, if you could...
  • Did I imagine setting a preference for miles in my profile? I still cannot find it. Is it something I specify with each res?
  • Aside from the G1, G2 promos for Orlando, is there anything I'm missing? Any way to reduce rates? (Remember, I don't have any access to any rates outside of the general public.)

Peteropny - The thought behind this approach to Fasttrack was to get 5 stays, achieve plat, then ask for the Diamond Fasttrack and save my status match for another time. Make sense? After the five stays post, I'm thinking to just wait until I know I have another res before applying for the Diamond Fasttrack so that I'm afforded the best use of the 180 days.
