I've certainly noticed such advice recently in the
"physical appearance" thread. OTOH Somewhere I vaguely recall reading that it can be helpful to show one's card in foreign Hiltons. I do know it was a necessity at the Las Vegas Hilton, being our ticket to the breakfast buffet and elite queue.
Maybe I'm just confusing it with the need to produce an up-to-date UA 1K card to gain access to a LH lounge.
