We follow the general advice here of modestly proffering our card when checking in abroad and we have six GLON nights coming up at the Hong Kong Conrad next week. As we're leaving today we notice belatedly that Mrs. Fredd's Diamond card expired yesterday.
Too late for this trip but she calls the Diamond desk only to be told "Your status hasn't expired - just your card. You don't need it." You don't send out new cards any more? "No, we don't. We can send you a new one if you'd like."
Okay, they'll send us a new one now that we've requested it but it strikes me as an odd and even eccentric policy not to automatically replace a card with an expiry date on its face. Yes, I'm sure we'll do just fine without it but still...
Edited to add: I've sent a pm to mods suggesting they might want to incorporate this into the longer thread about the card's appearance.
