This really annoys me, too. Not the choice of newspaper

but the annexation of shared space without reference to anyone else. I called someone on this once and he said "It is my [blocked middle] seat because I am a Gold card holder." Never occured to him that I might also be a Gold card holder! I never use shared space without asking, even if it is "my" blocked seat.
