Remember when I said that it is based upon many variables. This is just one indicator when you couple that indicator with others such as location, behavior of the driver etc. the picture becomes much more reliable. You can roll your eyes as much as you want come to the locations that many of us work in and observe, you will understand very quickly why this works.
By your screen name I can assume that you are a Marine or former Marine correct. I guaranty that you could take me to a battlefield doesn't matter where and both of us could be placed in the same area. I am betting you would be able to identify an ambush 100 % better than I. This is because you have the training and more importantly the experience to recognize the subtle clues that exist. This is no different.
I am also betting you would be less that happy if someone without the training and the skills that you possess told you or implied that the policy and procedures that you have used and have proven to be effective by your own use in the field didn't work or that you didn't know what you were talking about. This happens daily to members of Law Enforcement.
