Channel 9 was switched on, which allows you to listen in to ATC as you fly along. As we approached LA we flew direct to the Santa Monica VOR, then left heading 070 along past the Hollywood sign for a visual approach onto 25L.

Back in LA again and I was bushed. Got a few beers in the hotel along with a burger( yea again!!!) and went to bed. With no flights until 8pm the next day I switched off the alarm and drifted off.

Day five: Tuesday 23rd March.

As I said, my flight back to Zurich wasn’t until 8pm tonight. I made arrangements with the front desk for a late check out, they let me keep the room free of charge until 3pm. I had a slow day by the hotel pool, swimming and soaking up some Cali rays. Easy life….

I took my last trip on the hotel shuttle back to LAX and checked in for my flight home. It was a nice thought to be flying Business Class after all that stuff in coach.

For this last part I will let the pictures do the talking.

Star Gold Lounge

Food and drink offerings

Seat controls

Starter. Air dried beef.

Beef again for the main.

Raspberry moose and cheese board with a nice glass of port

My window seat for the 11hrs 25min flight.

Wing view.

“Easy” Airbus above us as we fly over Europe. Nearly home now,

So that’s almost that. Flew up to MAN soon after arriving in Zurich. I was ready for home now. Nothing happened on the ZRH-MAN. Normal A319 type flight.

I was met at the airport by the Mrs and we crawled home along the M62 in terrible traffic. Home,Bed,sleep.

What an amazing trip. Hard work but very satisfying. Virgin America were the stars of the show and I wish them a profitable future. I will certainly fly them again when im next in the States.

Thanks for reading. Feel free to comment.
Thanks, Lee
