I try to keep it simple and only ask for two things a high floor and away from the elevator and vending machines. I don’t request a view, pillows, or bed type. I rarely get my request with out a second or third effort.
I certainly agree with everything you said there! As a matter of fact, you said a big mouthful, and I would say that my experience is often quite similar. I hate it when I get to my room and have to make the bellperson wait while I call down to the front desk to inquire about being moved to another room. The sad thing is that they almost always have the room available, and move me within a few minutes, but the bellperson has to trudge down to the lobby for new keys, then come back up and take me to the corrected room, and then get only one tip (albeit larger than I might have given otherwise) from me, when he/she could have had two or three in the same period of time.
