When I rode the cable car 3 weeks ago, the paying system was kind of funky. We got on at the start of the route, so they made us pay $5 (which we didn't have problem with until later...). However, when people started getting on, none of them paid! It was kind of like why didn't we get on the cable car two streets later and not pay a cent? This happened all four times we used it so I was wondering if there was a set system.
