..if you're looking for a stereotypical Hawaii beach resort experience, stay at Manele.

Mrs tn(nr) and I love the Lodge, but it is more like a gentleman's hunting lodge and less like a beach resort.

Manele has the advantage of the pools and beach right there, versus having to take the shuttle for 30+ minutes to get to them.

That said, do consider going up to the Lodge for dinner (dress appropriately. Then stay there after dark and sit in the backyard, where they light fires and lanterns and folks sit around them and drink wine (or whiskey ) and stargaze in the night sky.

Then go back down to the beach and get warm!
