I stayed here in January with my fiancee. It was a paid stay, and I wasn't Diamond yet.

Initially, I was very impressed with the level of service. After a long 4 hour drive from SF, the valet promptly and pleasantly met us and took the car away from us. We went inside and was greeted with a campaign reception -- never a bad thing after a long car ride! There was only one person working the desk, so we happily sipped campaign, sat by the cozy fireplace, ad relaxed.

When we got to check in, I confirmed my request for a quiet room. The guy who checked us in told us that even though our room was on the first floor, it would be very quiet.

We got to our room (the park and mountain view was lovely, even if we couldn't see it that night), went to dinner, and came back to hang out for a bit before retiring to bed. About an half an hour after we decided to go to sleep, our next door neighbor (which ended up to be a big family with a few kids) came back to their room to hang out. After a couple of minutes, the conversation level increased, and they let the doors slam behind them as they went between two rooms to hang out (one room was next to us and the other was a few doors down). They continued to talk and laugh loudly in their rooms and in the hallway as well as let the slam the door every couple of minutes for about 20 or 30 minutes. After not being able to stand it anymore, I called the front desk, explained the situation, and asked them to check on the guests. I waited and after 15 or 20 minutes of no change in noise level, I called the front desk again. This time, they sent two security folks who quickly took care of the situation. Phew! We were finally able to get back to bed.

The next day, we noticed that our section of the hotel was full of families with kids sharing a couple of different rooms. I was so surprised that we were put in the family corner because I had specifically requested a quiet room on the reservation and again at check-in.

The following night, we experienced some more noise, mainly exchanges among family members and doors slamming as they went between the rooms. It went on for 5 or 10 minutes a couple of different times and then stopped.

After the first night, perhaps I should've gone to the front desk to request another room, but we were so tired that we didn't think about it that night and were so excited to ski that we didn't think about it the next morning. It didn't ruin our trip in anyway, but it makes me think twice about staying here again. Also, when I checked-out, no one mentioned the noise level and definitely didn't apologize for it. On top of that, they didn't apply our $150 food and drink promo, and I had to fight to get it. Ugh.

Despite positive first impression, I probably won't go back. A few other strikes against the hotel includes:
- Bad location relative to the ski resorts
- Bad restaurants -- one felt like an Old Country Buffet and the other felt like a high-end rip-off. I'm glad we had the food and drink promo
- Terrible casino odds
- Too many kids and families. It's hard to get a quiet, romantic weekend here.
