I did a Status Challenge (fly X amount of miles in a certain period to get the Status), UA doesn't do matches, back in 2007. E+ is certainly nice to have when the upgrades don't clear. Unless your a hub captive, I would recommend trying it out.
Always good to spread your flying a bit. For the same miles as DM on DL, you can be PM on DL and 1P on UA which gives you a lot of different options.
Is there no love for those of us who fly US?
In fact, it seems that next week--when I am going to visit a friend of mine in CLT, therefore PVD-ORD-CLT on UA, followed by US--it seems that the system already upgraded me
Personally, I like how the reservation system for the *A carriers all "talk" with each other rather seamlessly...
