If flying with BA - flights operated by Flybe - allows a more generous baggage allowance then it may be worth the extra few ££ to go with BA. If there's any way you can make your way to Aberdeen you can fly with BA to LHR Heathrow and take the aggro of travelling from Gatwick to central London after the flight - if central London is your ultimate destination.
