Hotel Junges - Hamburg - Review

Just returned from a brief stay at the Hotel Junges in Hamburg.

Location. The hotel is located in the St Georg are, just a quick walk from the train terminal. It is at the end of the city's red light district, so that can be a plus or a minus, depending on your needs. But it is on a well-lit, well-traveled street.

Lobby and Service. Great, modern lobby, with a rather appealing bar. There is a guest lounge just off the lobby with plasma tv and free internet station. Service is polite, but no one goes out of their way to help.

Rooms and Bathrooms. Rooms are large by German standards. Decor is minimal (Ikea-style), but very clean and welcoming. The hotel does not apparently have large beds. The best you can do is push two small beds together. But beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are large, but there is only a standing shower with sliding doors. There are no special toiletries, aside from the all-in-one shampoo-bodywash-handsoap dispenser.

Breakfast is great and served in a cool restaurant with lots of natural light. Great breads, and a wide selection of cereals, cheeses, etc.
