YQ dumping as a straightforward process (plating on a 3rd party carrier) is largely eliminated now, but there are other ways that can achieve the same result perfectly legally within the existing framework. YQ is becoming interlineable in many cases (especially with ATI and revenue sharing across alliances) but quirks in local regulatory frameworks mean that choosing the venue, origin and currency to plate your itinerary can make a huge difference in the final pricing (not to mention POS inventory also varies with modern yield management programs).
