I prefer to stay at one of the hotel chains I have status in, but that seems to be quite lacking in the country. No Hyatt or Priority Club (Holiday Inn, ect), that I can see.
I've also read some reports of sporadic electricity. As someone who uses a Cpap machine to sleep, this worries me a bit.
Any other tips, I would appreciate. I'd probably stay 2-3 weeks.

I stayed here on one of my trips. Very nice place and reasonably priced and much cheaper than the Colbert or Pallisandre. Another poster mentioned the Sakamanga. I stayed there also and it is also very nice but I think it is a little bit more expensive. Location of either is fine. I have travelled a fair bit of the island . PM me if you would like more details. Can also give you the local agent that I used that was very reliable and did a terrific job.
