I had a car with pretty bad front tires last year I think it was. Mazda 5. The tires were not totally bald but pretty marginal. Worse, it was raining hard and I swore I could feel this on the highway. I gave up after one too many "Whoa!" moments and swapped it out, didn't feel safe driving it 3 hours. I had picked it up in the city at HLE, and made a detour to swap it out at PIT. Got a worse car (HHR, ugh) but it was old enough that it had new tires, so stuck with it. Rain stopped about an hour later while still driving and no rain the next day. Then I had to complain about the fuel and service fee they added while at PIT; got it refunded and got a $25 coupon, but annoying.
