Must be some crazy pricing out of HKG then. From ICN, the R/T flight can be purchased outright for just a fraction over $1000, and if you can get a discounted business class ticket, under $1000. No way is the price difference anywhere close to $1000. Not that it matters anyways. The normal price should have no bearing whatsoever on whether you purchase an upgrade. That is merely a psychological factor that companies use to try to get consumers to purchase a product they wouldn't consider otherwise. The only thing one should consider is whether or not the price being offered is worth it for the product/service being purchased.
