8 months is about the ideal time to travel with a baby - at least they do not crawl and roll over yet. The kid is probably too heavy for a bassinet (check with DL) so I would prefer the first row in C, where you kid can be on the floor (blanket) and sleep or play without too much problems.
As far as other passengers frowning on you - as long as you at least try to keep the kid quiet during the night, they should not complain.
We have taken quite a few intercontinent flights in biz with our kids (now 7, 7, and 5). Often we get frowns when boarding, and compliments at the luggage belt - and they are certainly not the most subdued of kids ! But in-flight they know to behave.
