Okay, you pretty much said what I wanted to say, but didn't have the balls to! You comment on Virgin is spot-on!

Virgin lost my business after one occasion just before the safety demo when the flight attendants were being introduced. They announced that their (gay) male colleague was 'doing it up the rear today' and then all stood their giggling and pulling faces at each other. Really unprofessional and didn't exactly fill me with confidence that these were the people to rely on in an emergency.

Never had unprofessional service on BA, sometimes not as attentive as I would have liked, but they have some really great staff (who I hope they manage to keep!).
