I'll be in Ho Chi Minh city, eventually moving on to Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. Eventually, I will be flying from PNH to BKK, so I would like to end my trip in PNH.

I am trying to avoid backtracking as much as possible (meaning I want to avoid travelling through PNH to get to REP). Are there any locations I can travel to from HCMC for a night, that would then get me easy access to REP? It seems to me that almost all crossings to REP take you through PNH, therefore not backtracking is impossible...any throughts or suggestions? I'm willing to travel anywhere in Vietnam.
