I agree with it. There should be no mandatory resort fees and Platinums should get their regularly-scheduled benefits at no extra charge.

In an ideal world, if a hotel offers a voluntary resort fee package (which some do and I think it's a perfectly fine idea), I'd suggest there should be a lower-fee one for elites to recognize the double-payment issue. In practice, I've never seen that: I'm just pleased to see properties offer the voluntary packages to begin with.
