After following up with the Super Elite desk and the Super Elite Concierge, I was told the policy changed last year or very recently. Great way to treat your best customers Air Canada! AC will presumably take care of their Super Elite members, but not their spouses or children - nice policy!

That does not sound right. Rules do not appear to have changed. You may have hit someone who invented their own rules, or there is something else going on?

From the certificates: "Can be used by the [...] member whose name and Aeroplan number appear on the certificate OR by one traveling companion who must travel on the same flight as the member..."
