12 month expiration is ridiculous, and is why I didn't switch to Hilton in the first place after the devaluation last year: I discovered they had already taken away my points, and made a federal case out of reinstating them even though I was Platinum at Marriott, fax them a MR statement, and was promising them Marriott's business. They still asked me to jump through hoops.

Screw that; good riddance to them. And apparently I dodged a bullet with their devaluation.

And I disagree about the thread being misplaced here: any *wood, PC or MR member thinking about going to HH should know how ridiculous the 12-month policy is if you decide to go elsewhere.
