The ink jet printer market is so screwed up that nowadays, a new basic ink jet printer, WITH a full set of cartridges, now can be bought for LESS than a complete set of cartridges alone. So of course, I bought a second printer, with a set of OEM cartridges, in case my printer actually clogs from the 3rd party cartridges that I mainly use. (so far, it hasn't).
Absolutely. I got the Canon (Pixma 620) for $40 after rebates, which is les than an OEM set of cartridges.
The Canon (Pixma 620) that I got has 5 cartridges. In addition the usual, YCM and B, it has a larger black cartridge, that is used for B?W printing only. The other black cartridge is used printing in colour.

I got two sets of the five cartridges for $30, including postage. We'll see how well they work, or not.
