Hopefully once you've come up with a few options that will work with you a customer service rep can help you with the booking.
As long as you are willing to make multiple stops, this can be done. Just booked 4 (low) tickets to TLV via CDG. On the way there from home through MSP, way back through DTW and onto home. I even get a few days as a layover to check out Paris. I was able to discover the options and book online.
I second the idea to use SkyTeam first. Download the travel desk app and find options. Then see if KVS or Expertflyer to assess award availability. Then try booking each segment pair (MSP-AMS-MSP) to see if seats are still there. Then book! Easy right?
