I had the same problem last year when I changed the departure date on the ticket via phone (booked the ticket directly with emirates). In the end it only accepted changes once I had paid the difference in airport tax (changed from LGW to LHR on top of the date change). Maybe your agent has yet to pay your ticket or something but in the end I am sure if you call up EK they can do the changes for you.
