I flew on JAL in J NRT-JKF and found it to be quite nice. One thing I hate saying because I'm such an AA loyalast is the the service is far and away above AA's.

You do get AA miles, but if you are not flying on a codeshare AA flight # you will not get Q points/miles. I learned that the hard way. 7k + miles down the drain...

I found the seats comparable, but don't have the #'s. One thing that I really like about JAL is their "special" drink called "Skytime". It's some kind of kiwi juice thing. I drank it for 13 hours
