Warning: $299.00 fare to London costs $402.30
The airlines came out with a new fare to London from the West Coast today, at a very interesting $299. However, when you try to buy it, the total is a whopping 35% higher, at $402.30.

Here's what's not included in the fare:
AA revenue
  • $12.00 AA security surcharge
  • $ 9.45 AA LON passenger service surcharge
Total AA revenue is $320.45, not $299.00
Taxes
  • $25.60 US international tax
  • $ 5.00 US customs user fee
  • $ 6.00 US federal inspection fee
  • $ 3.10 US animal and plant health inspection service user fee
  • $13.50 US airport passenger facility charges
  • $29.10 GB air passenger duty
Total taxes $82.30
