I see that people have problem when they have connecting flights and want to leave the airport. But if you just have a one-way booked I hope the tax is part of the ticket, right?

Correct.

As a footnote, on my last trip home, during my overnight connection in BKK, I left the airport and got an inexpensive room for the night. Because I had my onward boarding pass, I didn't pay the 700 when departing through immigration the next morning. Inconsistency is the standard here.
