I tried to make a booking at the HR Katmandu for one of my future stays. Currently there are no normal rooms available, only suites.

Normal room would be roughly 200 $, Suite is now 700 $

When I asked for the 72 hr booking guarantee for Plats., I was told that that it's only available when the hotel is sold out entirely.

That would mean, at the moment I am forced to buy a suite for 700 $, but when the hotel is sold out totally, I might take advantage of the 72 hr booking guarantee and book a regular room for the daily rate of 200 $ ?

Is that really so? Does that make sense? Any experience?
