I recently applied for and received the Starwood Amex card (with the ridiculously low credit limit that others have griped about). I've done some spending on the card and paid off my first month's balance already. I did some more spending on the card after that and knowing that I have a large car repair to pay for this week, I went back to the web site so I could make another payment and free up the rest of the credit line so I could use the card when I pick up my car. For some reason, Amex will not let you make another payment until your statement date rolls around again.

What is the point of this??? I want to give them cash from my bank account, and they don't want to take it unless I mail in a check.

Is there any way around this? I don't really have time to wait for a check to arrive and post to my account.
