No experience with Bogota, but flying out of IAH regularly shows overhead space to be a problem. Continental either needs to quit charging for checked baggage, or enforce carry-on restrictions. The FA's are doing heroic work to accommodate passengers.

The continental web-site says 45 linear inches is acceptable. I prefer the sizing boxes. Non-standard sizes, while "legal" are often not efficient. Courtesy to fellow passengers and common sense have been thrown out the window by passengers avoiding checked baggage for whatever reason. I avoid it to save time, but I can pack for a week in a 17 inch bag, which fits easily in any overhead wheels in, except for RJs.
